Teaser slide show for SORE

The Photo Club will be at the Squamish Outdoor Recreation Expo on Saturday April 30 3-7pm (see the post below).  Petra has put together a slideshow for display and this is a teaser.  Come out on Saturday and see the whole show.

After our exhibit at the Window Galleries downtown is off to a good start, there's one more opportunity for you all to show off what you got.
I'm putting together a slideshow for the Squamish Outdoor Recreation Expo on April 30th and it would be great if you could e-mail me your best shots or the shots you would like to show. The slideshow will play back at our table and I will add your photo credit to all your images so more people can see what a talented club we are.
Please e-mail me your 10 best shots (or less if you can't find 10) with a file size around 1MB/photo by Wednesday, April 27th. I won't be doing any re-sizing so anything that doesn't fit the bill will be left out. Pictures will be deleted after the Expo in case anyone has concerns about copyright issues. I won't keep any since I have way too many of my own :)

"Squamish Outdoor Recreation Expo (SORE) is a FREE event taking place at the Squamish Adventure Centre from 3pm to 7pm on Saturday, April 30th.
The 4 hour event starting at 3:00pm will be a rare opportunity to see firsthand what events and activities our local non‐profit outdoor recreation clubs offer to the community. You will not only learn about the broad spectrum of clubs but more importantly how you can get involved and become a member to these clubs. The ‘trade show’ style event will have representation from approximately 20 clubs spanning all age groups, abilities and outdoor recreation interests."

Please drop by and see the Photo Club's first exhibition.  Eight photographers from the club submitted photographs and they are on display at the Artisan Gallery on the corner of Main Street and Second Avenue in Squamish.

April Photo Walk - Thursday April 21

On our April Photo Walk we will be looking for "Signs of Spring". Meeting point this time is... the parking lot at the Smoke Bluffs north-east of the Adventure Centre at our usual time at 7pm. We can explore the bluffs area, the blind channel is nearby and some forest trails. Wear some sturdy footwear and bring your tripods. Or skip to the caffeinated beverages ;) Coffee at Starbucks afterwards for a chat is -as usual- an option. Let's see what we can find! See ya out there!

Special meeting on Thursday March 31

Hi everyone,

The Photo Club has the great opportunity to showcase our pictures in the SAC building and the Window galleries in the Artisan building in beautiful downtown Squamish from mid-April to mid-July. I'd like to invite everyone who is interested in displaying their pictures to a meeting where we can brainstorm about quantity, sizes and maybe a theme. We are a bit pressed for time since the exhibit starts April 15th, so please make time for this. Keep in mind that there will be personal costs involved for enlargements and framing.
I will be able to provide you with more information at the meeting.

March Photo Walk - Thursday March 17 @ 7pm

Spring is hopefully coming soon and with it some better weather. Nevertheless we're braving the elements and meeting up for our first outdoor photo-walk of 2011. 

It's all about Urban Landscape and Architecture paired with a low light situation. So don't forget your tripods and your rubber boots. 

Meet at the Rotary Clock downtown, corner of Cleveland Ave and Winnipeg Str. A warm-up and chat at Starbucks afterwards should make for a fun evening. See you there!
