Guest Photographer at Feb. 17 meeting

I am very happy to announce that the President of the News Photographers Association of Canada, Andy Clark, will be the guest photographer at our February 17 Photo Walk.  The evening will be held at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park from 7pm until 9pm.  There will be a request for a $2 donation at the door to cover our rental costs.

Who is Andy Clark

Andy Clark began his career with the Canadian Press as a copyboy in 1970. In ‘74 he was promoted to photographer and transferred to Ottawa covering national politics for several years. Andy joined the Hamilton Spectator briefly before accepting a position with United Press Canada working in Vancouver and Ottawa in the late 70s and early 80s. In 1985 Andy was hired for the newly created Reuters Newspictures. After several months he was offered and accepted a position with then Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney as his official photographer. In 1987 Andy re-joined Reuters working in Brussels, Belgium and later in the London, UK bureau. In the early 90s he moved back to Toronto as Chief Photographer for Canada where he remained until 2001. Andy is currently based in Vancouver. Andy has traveled extensively throughout the world covering many assignments including famines, disasters, world summits, sporting events, Gulf War and conflicts in the Balkans.
